A trial advocate at heart, Matt is most at home when he is advocating for the rights of his clients in the courtroom. A graduate of Stetson University College of Law, Matt competed as member of Stetson’s trial team, the nation’s premier trial advocacy program, where he was selected to compete in trial competitions across the country. While at Stetson, Matt also served as a teaching assistant for the trial advocacy program, helping to guide and instruct students on effective trial techniques and strategies.
After graduating from Stetson, Matt dedicated himself to serving the citizens of Sarasota County as an Assistant State Attorney for the 12th Judicial Circuit. During his time as a prosecutor, Matt gained significant trial experience, successfully prosecuting cases ranging from DUI to sexual battery. Upon leaving the State Attorney’s Office, Matt worked for one of the largest insurance defense firms in the State of Florida, where he gained valuable insight into how insurance companies defend cases, and now he leverages that experience to the advantage of the firm’s clients.
Matt is a member of the Sarasota County Bar Association and the Florida Justice Association. Outside of work, you can find Matt walking his two dogs, cheering on the USF Bulls, or paddleboarding through the beautiful waterways of Florida with his fiancée.
